Camellias Thus Far

We planted eight camellias last year. Six were Camellia japonica: two ‘Chandleri Elegans,’ ‘April Tryst,’ ‘Kramer’s Supreme,’ ‘Debutante,’ ‘Nuccio’s Gem,’ and ‘Pink Parade.’ ‘Debutante’ has not started blooming yet. There is also a Camellia sansanqua, ‘Setsugekka,’ but it didn’t do much this winter (two white blossoms that got rain damaged before I got a picture). Of the new camellias, only the two ‘Chandleri Elegans’ and the ‘April Tryst’ produced a large amount of blooms – but that is ok for the first year. Hopefully ‘Debutante’ does something and I can add another camellia post. ‘Kramer’s Supreme’ is lightly scented. ‘Pink Parade’ is really beautiful, but didn’t produce very many blooms and is located in a really difficult area to access.
